Q2 eNewsletter

         President's Note

We hope that you, your staffs and your families are well as we all navigate this time of uncertainty together.

As the country practices social distancing and deathcare professionals adapt their business models to this new normal, the FSI team is dedicated to ensuring we help make this time as seamless as it can possibly be for you.

Because the majority of our operations are technology-driven, you can rest assured knowing we have the tools in place to receive payments, process deposits and withdrawals, and more, operating with minimal interruption to ensure you can continue serving your families as effectively as possible.

Part of this e-newsletter includes a letter recently shared with our clients that outlines our plan during the COVID-19 pandemic and our eSolutions that can serve as a helpful tool for your firm in this time of distancing. We hope you find it informative and accommodating.

As stated, the FSI team remains fully operational and with that brings opportunity to share useful updates and resources with you. In this edition of our e-newsletter, I am pleased and excited to share several FSI materials and news with you, including that our full four-part video series is now available for your viewing. The series is a great way to ensure you know all of the ways FSI can support you both now and beyond the pandemic. We hope you enjoy it!

Also included in this edition is a profile The Director wrote on one of our longest-tenured employees, Meiko Whitfield, in its issue featuring female leaders in deathcare. We are proud to have Meiko leading our client services team and to see how she has grown to help move FSI forward over the past 30 years.

From the entire FSI team, we wish you good health, safety and well-being during these extraordinary times. We are confident we will come out of this better and stronger than ever. If you have any questions or concerns, we are always just one phone call away.

Sincerely,

Bill Williams
President and CEO, Funeral Services, Inc.

COVID-19 FSI Update
As FSI continues to closely monitor the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be here to serve you as you serve your families. Our clients can rest assured knowing they have the technology and tools necessary to manage their trusts and sales programs without visiting their office or physical mailbox.

Please read our recent letter for information on how we will continue to ensure your programs operate seamlessly during this unique time.

National Records & Information Management Month Kickoff
The month of April is known as National Records and Information Management Month, which exists to emphasize the critical importance of keeping the books of your business properly reconciled, organized and secure.

A crucial component of proper records management is efficiency. According to Smartsheet, more than 40% of employees spend at least a quarter of their workweek on manual and repetitive tasks, such as data collection and data entry. With many deathcare firms not incorporating technology into their business models, the amount of time spent on these tasks is likely much higher in our industry.

Throughout the month, we will share information about our eSolutions that have helped our clients manage the recordkeeping of their trust and sales programs more efficiently. In the meantime, feel free to visit our eSolutions webpage to learn more about the technology
and tools available to you.

Employee Spotlight:
FSI is made up of a dedicated team of experienced professionals who work each day to provide you with excellent service. Each individual brings an important skillset that assists us in powering your trust. To help you get to know the FSI team better, we shine a spotlight on one employee each quarter.

      Meet:
                 Shreyamsh Kamate, Software Developer

As one of FSI’s software developers, Shreyamsh Kamate is responsible for analyzing and developing programs for FSI’s business needs, importing client data and improving the efficiency of FSI’s system. He also is actively involved in data resolution.

Shreyamsh’s favorite aspect of working as a software developer is collaborating with the IT department and being regarded as part of a family by the rest of the FSI team. Though he has been with FSI for only a short period of time, Shreyamsh has seen major improvements within FSI, including the transition of client records to the Cloud. This transition helped further secure client information and made FSI’s industry-leading features more accessible to clients. Shreyamsh credits FSI for polishing his programming skills and learning to maximize frequency and accuracy with analyzing data.

Shreyamsh holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University and a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communication engineering from India. Shreyamsh is an avid reader and enjoys hiking and exploring new places in the country.
